The fields of application for the IMOS metal optics are as manifold as their possible designs and shapes.

Why metal optics?
It is the extreme precision of the optical surfaces that makes each IMOS metal optics a master piece. Roughness values as small as 2 nm Ra can be obtained. For the shape accuracy (depending on the size of the optics) values of 0.5µm are possible which is the size of a bacterium.

Fields of application
These optics are used with high power lasers for beam focusing, at laser-beam cutting, in laser resonator cavities, for telescopes in astrophysics, for scientific measurement devices and in satellites.
